Teachings
Apprenticeship Program with Sweet Medicine Nation
These legacy teachings are for those committed to learning and serious about wishing to make a difference in their lives and those of others.
This is a two-year program that explores Indigenous Wisdom Way teachings and ceremonies. The classes are divided into four parts that build on each other every six months. Those who are ready at the end of each six-month segment will be prompted to continue to the next sections for another six months. At the end of the two years, there will be a gathering and initiation. Mentorship to focus on Medicine Training follows.
Sweet Medicine will offer a two-year (twice-monthly class) Program covering Indigenous Ways and teachings of her Elders only twice a year.

Lodges are usually held the third Saturday of the month—there is some variation, so please check for an email reminder or check the Four Winds Community Foundation Facebook page. We post lodge dates & other Events there. Mark your calendars. All ages welcome
The ceremony starts with the lighting of the fire at 10AM. You can come pray and learn to build the fire. We go into the lodge at 12 noon.
Just a few reminders:
- Women on their menstrual moon time are asked to stay home to honor that ceremony
- Bring lodge clothes (shorts for men and long dresses or long skirt and T-shirt for women), water to drink before and after lodge, towels (can bring one in the lodge and may want an extra one for after lodge)
- Suggested donation of $20 for fire wood, maintenance of lodge, & travel of our elder
We will have a potluck and talk circle after the lodge, so please bring a healthy potluck dish.
